Nestled at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon, Mambukal Resort rests at an elevation of 1,200 ft within a lush 23.6-hectare forest preserve in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

From healing sulfur springs and the iconic Japanese-style Ishiwata Bath House to the thrilling trails leading to seven majestic waterfalls, every path here invites discovery.

It was developed by a Japanese architect named Kokichi Paul Ishiwata in 1927. It started as a bathhouse and a picnic garden for Negrenses and their guests. Now, as one of the flagship tourism destinations of the province, Mambukal continues to deliver a holistic experience of keeping in touch with Mother Nature by providing its guests the adventure and comfort that can rejuvenate one's body, mind and soul.

In June 22, 1957, Mambukal was declared a town site by virtue of Republic Act No. 1964, known as the Act of Establishing the Mambukal town site for Health Center and Recreation Resort Purposes. The establishment of the town site is attributed to a number of hot sulfur springs within the resort, which is said to have a therapeutic effect.
